The Indian Coast Guard has commenced their recruitment drive for the year 2021 regarding various posts. On 5 January, 2020 i.e., Tuesday, the Indian Coast Guard called for applications from interested and eligible candidates for recruitments to the posts: Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch) and Yantrik. In order to apply for the posts in an online mode, eligible aspirants are required to visit the official website of the Indian Coast Guard at joinindiancoastguard.gov.in. It has to be kept in mind that candidates must apply for the posts on or before the last date which is 19 January, 2021 up till 6 PM.
The Indian Coast Guard is conducting the 2021 recruitment drive in order to fill a total of 358 available vacancies for various posts announced. Out of the 358 vacancies, 260 vacancies are reserved for the post of Navik(General Duty), 50 vacancies are reserved for Navik (Domestic Branch), 31 vacancies for Yantrik (Mechanical), 10 for Yantrik (Electronics) and 7 vacancies are reserved for the post of Yantrik (Electrical).
An official notification has also been issued by the Indian Coast Guard regarding the 2021 recruitment. The notice also shares a detailed information regarding the mandatory Examination fee payment and Admit Cards. The notice informs that candidates are required to pay a mandatory fee of Rs 250 through an online mode by following various forms of payment mentioned. Candidates can make the payment using either Net Banking or with the help of Visa/ Master/ Maestro/ RuPay Credit/ Debit Card/ UPI. On the other hand, candidates belonging to the categories: Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) are not required to pay an Examination fee. Apart from this, the notice also informs that the Admit Cards regarding the Examination will only be released and issued for those candidates who have paid the Examination fee successfully and to candidates from reserved categories who are not required to pay any fee.
Candidates are also required to meet the educational qualifications that have been specified by the Indian Coast Guard regarding various posts, the complete details of which have been mentioned below.
- Navik (General Duty): Candidates are required to have passed 10+2 with the subjects Maths and Physics from an Education Board which should have been recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
- Navik (Domestic Branch): Candidates are required to have passed Class 10 from an Education Board which should have been recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE).
- Yantrik: Candidates are required to have passed Class 10 from an Education Board which should have been recognized by the Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE). Candidates must also have attained a Diploma in Electrical/ Mechanical / Electronics/ Telecommunication (Radio/ Power) Engineering which must have been approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE).
