The Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC) has issued an official notification regarding their recruitment drive for the year 2020. The Commission has announced a total of 918 vacancies for interested and eligible candidates regarding the post of Assistant Professor in various colleges of Rajasthan. The Commission has notified the vacancies regarding different subjects which include: Maths, Physics, English, Chemistry, Botany, Hindi, History, Music, Sanskrit, Home Science, Urdu, Law, Geography, Punjabi and other subjects. The Commission is all set to commence the application process for the same in an online mode from 9 November, 2020 onwards, while the Commission will conclude the same on 8 December, 2020. Aspiring candidates who are eligible will be able to apply for the post by visiting the official website at rpsc.rajasthan.gov.in.
The candidate is required to fulfil the educational criteria of having a good record in academics with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade in Master's degree in the respective field from an Indian University. The candidate, otherwise can also have an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University. Apart from the educational qualifications mentioned, candidates are also required to have qualified the National Eligibility Test (NET) which is conducted by the UGC, CSIR, or a similar test which has been accredited by the UGC like SLET/ SET. However, it has also mentioned that candidates who have achieved a PhD Degree conforming to the 2009 Regulations of the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), will be free and exempted from the minimum eligibility regarding NET/ SLET/ SET for the recruitment process for Assistant Professor posts. On the other hand, it has also been informed that NET/ SLET/ SET will not be needed for a Master’s Programme in those disciplines for which there is no conduction of NET, SLET and SET. Apart from the mentioned criteria, the aspirant must have a good working knowledge of Hindi language written in the Devanagari Script, along with a good knowledge of the culture of Rajasthan.
The candidate is required to have a good academic record which means that the candidate must have scored an average of 55% marks in three examinations conducted before the Master's Degree. At least 50% marks in Graduation is also needed with any one of Secondary/ High School, Higher Secondary/ Senior Secondary or equivalent grades without the addition of any grace marks. The rounding off of marks must make the same to 55% or 50% according to the case of the candidate. The selection process of interested and eligible candidates will be done by a written examination after which an interview will also be conducted.
