The examination
date for the IBPS Clerk examination in the year 2021 will be held towards the
second half of 2021. The final examination dates have not yet been finalised by
the Institute however, it is being speculated that the IBPS Clerk exam has been
scheduled to commence from the month of November, 2021 onwards. The Preliminary
examination regarding IBPS Clerk is scheduled for November, 2021 and the other
Main examination will follow after the Preliminary examination has been

Eligibility Criteria
Before continuing
with the application process, aspiring candidates are required to carefully go
through the eligibility criteria which has been specified by the Institute in
order to confirm that they meet the criteria. The eligibility criteria notified

qualify for the examination.
Nationality: The
aspiring candidate must be a citizen of India. Candidates from Bhutan, Nepal
and Tibet are also eligible to apply however, they must have permanently been
Indian residents before 1 January, 1962.
Educational
Qualification: Candidates are required to meet the educational qualifications
mentioned by the Institute. Candidates must have completed their graduation
mandatorily and must have attained a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a
recognized University or Institute. It is also required that candidates have a
good and proper knowledge of Computer operations and applications. Candidates
with a Certificate/ Diploma/ Degree in Computer will be preferred. Candidates
who have studied IT will also be eligible for the examination.
Age Limit:
Candidates are required to meet the age criteria of having the minimum age
group of 20 years and maximum age group of 28 years as of 1 September, 2021.
Besides, the Institute has granted certain age relaxations to candidates
belonging to different categories.

Exam Pattern
The examination
pattern regarding the IBPS Clerk examination consists of two stages: Preliminary
Examination and Main Examination. The Institute conducts the examination for
IBPS Clerk in order to assess and analyze the ability of the candidate
regarding the position.
Preliminary
Examination: The first stage of the IBPS Clerk examination is the Preliminary
exam which will be conducted by the Institute in an online mode. The exam will
be a Computer Based Test (CBT) while the questions included will be Multiple
Choice Questions in nature. The Preliminary examination will consist of a total
of 100 questions carrying 100 marks in total. Candidates will be given one hour
to complete the Exam. Besides, the exam will be held both in English and in
Hindi as well. A negative marking is also applicable for every wrong answer,
one-fourth marks will be deducted. The Preliminary examination will include
three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability.

Main Examination:
The Main Examination is the second stage of the IBPS Clerk examination. The main exam will also be a Computer Based Test (CBT). The Preliminary examination
will consist of a total of 190 questions carrying 200 marks in total.
Candidates will be given a total of 160 minutes to complete the Main Exam. Like
the Prelims exam, the Main exam will also be held both in English and in Hindi
as well. A negative marking is also applicable for every wrong answer,
one-fourth of marks will be deducted. The Main examination will consist of four
sections: Reasoning Ability and Computer Aptitude, Quantitative Aptitude, General/
Financial Awareness and English Language.
