Notification for junior engineer examination in the month of October will released by the Staff selection commission as usual every year. The government recruits junior engineers to various departments through this examination. A candidate who applies for this post must know about the complete and important in formation such as Application form, Exam date, Eligibility Criteria, Exam Pattern, Mode of Exam, Counseling, cut off marks etc.

SSSC JE 2020 Application form

The candidates can view and download the application form of SSC JE 2020 from the official Website of SSC ( or The candidates must fill the application online giving all the basic information they are asked for and also they must upload all the documents required.

Make sure that you are using the website of SCC JE to apply for the examination and fill the application and registration form with the accurate details. Candidates can make the payment through online or offline mode. The categories such as SC, ST, PH and ex-serviceman need not make any payment as the application fee. Facilities such as debit card, credit card and net banking can be used by the candidates in online payment of the fee. Those who pay in the offline mode can pay it through the challan of Rupees 100 at any branch SBI in India.

SSC JE 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The candidate must and should be aware of the eligibility criteria before applying the SSC JE 2020 examination. You may take note of the following points.

Candidate must have completed B-Tech/ BE/ Diploma in engineering from a recognized university to apply for the post of junior engineer (civil).

One must take a diploma in electrical engineering to apply for the post of Junior Engineer (electrical)

JE(civil) Department of posts- a candidate must be with three years of B-Tech/ BE or Diploma in engineering.

Junior Engineer (Electrical) Department of posts BE/B-Tech or Diploma in three years electrical engineering.

SSC Junior Engineer (civil) B-Tech/ BE in civil engineering or 3 years’ diploma in civil engineering from some recognized university or institute. The candidate must with at least 2 years of experience in the same field.

A person who have completed B-Tech/BE in mechanical or electrical engineering or three years of diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering can apply for the post electrical or mechanical engineer.

SSC JE 2020 Age Limit

One who applies for the post of junior engineer (civil/ electrical and mechanical) must not be beyond 32 years old at the time of placing the application. A candidate will be asked to submit an age proof to prove the age.

Candidate applying for the junior engineer civil/electrical department of posts and junior engineer (surveying and contract), MES can be between the age limit of 18 to 27.

Candidates must make sure that the age relaxation limit for the special category such as SC/ST etc. must be made use of.

SSC JE 2020 Selection Process

Paper I is the first step of the exam which will be basically of written and it will be an objective type. The exam which will be conducted in online mode is of the grand total of 200.

The paper II is a written exam 300 marks and it will be a conventional type exam. This exam will be conducted in offline mode.

The candidate will not have any face to face interview and the candidates will be selected on the basis of the marks they have obtained in the written examination therefore the candidate must be well aware of the questions they answer. No questions must be left unanswered.

If the candidates achieve an equal score they have to undergo any of the following stages for the selection.

SSC JE 2020 Syllabus

Let’s now have a cross-check of paper I and Paper II syllabus

Paper I is divided into three parts and the first part consists of 50 marks based on the questions related to general intelligence and reasoning. The second part is of 50 marks on questions related to general awareness and the third part is all about general engineering and the total score of the third part will be 100 marks.

General engineering is again divided into three-part A SSC JE CE (civil and structural) part B SSC JE EE(electrical) and part C SSC JE ME (mechanical). The candidates can select any one of the above-mentioned parts according to the post they have applied for.

Paper I which is an objective type examination of 200 should be completed within 120 minutes (i.e. 2hours)

The candidates must attend the questions so carefully because 0.25 marks will be reduced for each mistake the candidate commit. It will be applicable to only paper I.

Paper II will be a conventional type exam with the grand total of 300 marks. It is divided into three parts and candidates needs to write only the part that is applicable to the post one had applied for.

SSC JE 2020 Admit Card

Admit card will not be sent to the candidate via post therefore the hall ticket must be downloaded from the regional web site. The candidates must not forget to have the admit card while writing the exam.

SSC JE 2020 Answer key.

The authority will publish the answer key of all the sets of the examination in the web site. One will be able to analyze his/her performance by checking it online.

SSC JE 2020 Cut Off

There will be cut off marks in SSC JE examination so that the candidates are expected to score the required marks as they have to clear the cut off marks.
