SSC CGL 2020

Staff Selection Commission - Combined Graduate Level Examination (SSC CGL) is an exam conducted by Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for the recruitment of staff to different posts in departments, ministers and organization of the Government of India. It is administered by the Staff Selection Commission for selecting staff for various Group B and Group C posts. The examination for SSC CGL is conducted in online mode, which has primarily four stages or Tiers namely Tier I – Preliminary exam, Tier II- Mains Exam, Tier III- Descriptive Paper followed by Tier IV- Skill Test exam.

The Tier I- Preliminary exam for SSC CGL will be conducted between June 4th to June 19th, 2020 while the mains exams will be conducted in September 2019. The online application form for all the stages of SSC CGL 2020 starts from 5th May 2020.

Academic Qualification

Candidates should have a graduate degree on or before 01.08.2020. Candidates those are in the final year of graduation can also apply for SSC CGL along with their provisional degrees.

Assistant Audit/Accounts Office- Bachelor’s Degree in any subject from a recognized University OR

 SSC CGL 2020 Registration

SSC CGL 2020 Application form will be available in March 2020 and would likely to continue till April 2020. Candidates can fill the form online by visiting the official website (different for different regions) for SSC.

·         Step 1: Registration- Candidates need to complete the registration by entering his/her e-mail ID, phone number and password. A provisional registration the number will be generated. Use this registration number to login. Same will be sent to your email ID.

·         Step 2:  Filling Details and Upload Documents- Candidates are required to fill the detailed application form and upload the following scanned photograph and signature as per the dimensions mentioned in the JPEG format.

·         Step 3: Fee Payment- After successfully filling the application form, candidates must pay the application fee as mentioned on the website through the online mode via Debit/Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS or Mobile Wallets.

On successful completion of these steps, take out the print out for future preferences along with the application form.

SSC CGL application fee 2020 for unreserved male candidates is Rs. 100 while female and reserved category candidates are exempted from any fee.

SSC CGL 2020 Admit Card

The Admit card for different stages of the SSC CGL exam will be released and issued to the candidates on the official website. The Admit card for the Tier-I will be released tentatively in June 2020 while the Admit card for the Tier II will be released in August 2019. Candidates can easily download the hall ticket online by entering the login credentials. The candidate must carry their admit card as well as a valid ID proof to the examination center without which the candidate won’t be allowed to appear for the exam.

SSC CGL 2020 Exam Pattern

SSC CGL 2020 is a computer-based examination (CBT).Every year Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) in four levels for different posts.             

SSC CGL Prelims/ Tier-I exam consists of objective type questions which comprise of 4 sections, with 100 questions that need to attempted in 1 hour. Each question will carry 2 marks which makes a total of 200 marks.

Mains Exam

Candidates who qualify the cut off score in the Prelims exam will go-ahead for the SSC CGL Mains/Tier II exam. There are four sections in this Tier with 100 questions which account for a total of 200 marks which are required to be answered in 2 hours.

Important Points:

·         Paper-1 and Paper-2 are mandatory for all posts.

·         Paper-3 is only for the post of “Statistical Investigator Gr. II” & “Compiler”

·         Paper-4 is only for the post of “Assistant Audit Officer”   

·         There will be negative marking in SSC CGL 2020 Tier 2 exam.   

·         One wrong answer to a question will deduct 0.5 marks in Paper-1,3,4 and 0.25 marks in Paper-2.
